Lester B. Pearson School Board to donate more than $4,000 to Haiti relief on behalf of teachers

The Lester B. Pearson School Board will donate $4,250 to the Free the Children Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund on behalf of its 4,000 staff members for Staff Appreciation Week.
“In light of the earthquake that has devastated Haiti, we felt that making a donation in the name of all staff members of our school board would recognize the contributions of each staff member and at the same time would help those in Haiti who so desperately need it right now,” said Bob Mills, the board's director general.
Formally known throughout the province of Quebec as Teacher Appreciation Week, the LBPSB uses the week of Feb. 8-12 to recognize its entire staff and their contribution to the success of every student at the school board.
