Pierrefonds Blvd. to be extended westward

The borough council of Pierrefonds-Roxboro approved the extension of Pierrefonds Blvd. by about 150 metres west, passed  Château Pierrefonds Blvd.
Borough spokesperson Yolande Paquette said the boulevard is being extended to give access to the Héritage sur le Lac housing development in the western sector of the borough.
The only way to access the site from Pierrefonds Blvd. now is through roads on private property.
The extension will link the boulevard from where it ends now on land reserved for a link to Highway 440 to Palomino Street.
While it’s doubtful there will ever be a link to Highway 440, the borough has advocated building an urban boulevard on land reserved by the provincial government.
Borough Mayor Monique Worth has said the urban boulevard would give the West Island another much-needed north-south route west of St. Charles Blvd.
