Ste. Anne marina back in business

Facility under new managment

The Ste. Anne de Bellevue marina is once again open for business.
Parks Canada, which manages the marina at the historic Ste. Anne de Bellevue canal and park, announced Monday that SkiWakeSurf Inc. is the site’s new manager.
The opening of the marina, which normally takes place in mid-May was delayed, said city officials, because the lease between Parks Canada and the previous tenant had not been renewed.
“SkiWakeSurf was chosen because we can provide superior customer service and a comprehensive range of services to boaters, water sports enthusiasts and visitor,” said Mike Stamos, owner of SkiWakeSurf Inc.
Ste. Anne de Bellevue Mayor Bill Tierney said the new partnership is also good for the city because the marina will bring in tourists and can also be used by area residents.
“It’s exciting. The new marina will create a real buzz out here,” Tierney said.
The revamped marina has 76 boat slips of various sizes, Stamos said, adding there are still spots open for new members.
As well, Stamos said expansion plans for the next four years include providing Internet access for members and boaters, more slips to accommodate more boats, boat maintenance and winter storage for members, watercraft rentals and making the marina a “centre for watersports” in the western region of Montreal.
