Take about 150 soccer teams, have them play more than 250 games on 24 fields over two days, add some rain, and you'll get an idea why Lakeshore's Soccerfest is billed as the largest recreational tournament in Quebec.

And despite the wet weather on Sunday, the 32nd edition of the popular event unfolded as planned, said the tournament president, Kelly-Anne Soutter. Teams from the host club reached 11 of 16 finals on Sunday, winning four titles.

The Lakeshore Leopards won the U-12 girls' crown with a 1-0 win over KMSA Coyotes from Cornwall. Pointe Claire took the boys' U-12 title with a 3-0 win over the KMSA Coyotes.

The Pierrefonds Vipers took the U-11 boys' final with a 5-0 win over the Lakeshore Rottweilers, while the Lakeshore Sensations were 4-2 winners over the Lakeshore Lions/ Tigers in the U-11 girls' final.

In the men's U-21 final, the Lakeshore Bulldogs/Bloodhounds defeated Pointe Claire 2-0. St. Constant defeated the Lakeshore Tigers 4-1 in the women's U-21 final.

Pointe Claire captured the U-14 boys' final with a 3-2 win over the Lakeshore Foxhounds.

The Lakeshore Warriors won the U-18 men's crown with a 3-0 victory over Pointe Claire.

The Pointe Claire Champagne Ladies claimed the U-99 women's open title with a 1-0 victory over the Cougars, while the DFC Madmen took the men's U-99 crown with a 3-1 win over the Pointe Claire Gentlemen.

Soutter said this year's edition of Soccerfest matched last year's event, which broke all records with 154 entries from Quebec and Ontario.

"We hosted over 3,300 players in our territory for the weekend," she said.

All tournament games were played on fields within the Lakeshore territories of Baie d'Urfé, Beaconsfield, Kirkland and Ste. Anne de Bellevue.
