Fastpitch Lions roar

All the long hours of practice throughout the spring and summer paid off this recent Labour Day Weekend when the Lac St. Louis Lions Cadette Fastpitch Softball team finished their season with a flourish, winning the LFFEQ (Ligue Fastpitch Feminine Élite du Quebec) playoffs.

The team went undefeated in the year-end tournament and demonstrated timely hitting, controlled pitching and heads-up defence in capturing the gold.

The Lions beat strong teams from Sud-Ouest and Rive-Sud (twice!), including an extra-innings, come-from-behind, heart-stopping win to cement the berth in the final game.
The victory capped off a very successful season in which these girls of summer also won bronze in a tournament in Cobourg, Ont., silver at the Provincial Championships, and finish fourth in the Eastern Canadian Championships in Nova Scotia.

The Lac St. Louis Lions are: Chloé Massicotte, Brigitte Pouliot, Stéphanie Sauvé, Laurence Ménard, Katherine Morin, Christina Latreille, Catherine Daigneault, Samantha Kwok, Christina Godbout, and Roxanne Vallée. The very proud coaching staff comprises Mike Pouliot, Sylvain Massicotte and Jack Kwok.
