The St. Lazare midget football team dropped a 14-7 decision to the St. Laurent Spartans on the weekend.
Jonathon Louis scored St. Lazare’s lone TD on a one-yard run.
Defensively, Jérémie MacNeil, Danny Allaire and Ryan Petrie each had a quarterback sack.
Elsewhere, the first-year St. Lazare Stallions junior football team won its inaugural game in the Quebec Junior Football League with a 31-27 triumph over the Joliette Pirates.
Justin McLean led the Stallions with a pair of touchdown catches of 41 and 48 yards. He also went 4-for-4 on convert kicks and booted a 28-yard field goal.
Mathieu Daigle and Chris McCarthy had the other St. Lazare TDs, while Stallions quarterback Gianni Settino completed 15 of 31 passes for 366 yards.
Defensive standouts were Laurent Dubreuil, Sam Hansen, Jordan Jasiukajc and Jerry Mangan. Joe Rogers and Adam David each had a fumble recovery.
